I sustained a thumb injury last month that has kept me from playing the guitar. It was not fun. I played my first gig since the injury this last Saturday. It was an event with my local Old Hickory Chamber of Commerce called Coffee with a Cop. And guess what? It was a really good time! It was held at BK Nails & Spa which is a place I never would have thought to play live at until the chamber invited me. The owner was very kind and the small crowd was engaged and laughed at my silly jokes. We all hung out on the sunny Saturday morning drinking coffee and eating doughnuts for a couple of hours. I supplied the tunes and was very thankful to have a friend sing back up with me on a couple of them. I played Dock of the Bay, Margaritaville, and Willie and the Hand Jive. I met some of my local representatives and was able to bend their ear a bit about neighborhood concerns. I'm happy to have been invited and look forward to participating and representing my creative side in future events with my chamber. 

So what's next? I'm working on that. :)
