My guitars are my main tools for performing. At this time I have 2 of them in the shop for repairs. I dropped my Martin guitar on a concrete floor the other day and put a crack in the back side of the body. I'm thankful for those who have tipped me at my recent shows to help pay for these repairs. I'm also very thankful for the guys at Superior Music for getting my instrument back into working order. It may be a month or more before the work is complete so I'm looking at end of June for my next possible gig. In the meantime, it's nice to have a community of musicians like the ones here in Nashville and Davidson County. I've had a couple people tell me I can use their guitars if the need arises. Not that one would want to but you can basically throw a rock at any point in Nashville, aim in any direction, and hit a guitar. They are pretty common in these parts.
I have a song that has been occupying my mind lately. It's a song about Pizza Boxes written by my new peer Tiffany Goss. We both played in a writers round the other weekend and her song made my wife tear up. I'm now working on adding the song to my set list. Not gonna lie. It's made me tear up a couple times listening to it also. Tiffany is a total professional and this song hits straight to the heart. I'm looking forward to playing it for my listeners soon.
Current books I'm into? The Wild Edge of Sorrow, Real Artists Don't Starve, The Artists Way, and The Creative Act.
Spring is here. I'm looking forward to smelling flowers, taking walks in lush green parks, and throwing a tennis ball for my dog to fetch.
Take care ya'll and be good to yourselves.
